January 26, 2026 — Equity is pleased to announce the Equity Second City Agreement (ESCA) has been ratified. Eligible members of Equity voted 100% in support of the proposed changes to the ESCA with a voting return rate of 55%.
The ratified terms of the ESCA come into effect immediately, retroactive to January 5, 2026. An updated version of the agreement will be available soon.

Last year, Equity successfully renegotiated the Opera Agreement, Canadian Opera Agreement, Vancouver Opera Agreement, Les Grands Ballet Agreement, National Arts Centre Music Department and Special Events Agreements, and Equity-Second City Agreement.
2026 will be focused on renegotiating the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Agreement, National Ballet of Canada Agreement, and Alberta Ballet Agreement.
